Running for unity: Coast-to-coast runner inspires communities across Western New York

AVON, N.Y. (WROC) — A man on a mission ran through Western New York this week, carrying a message he hopes will unite communities across the country.

Noah Coughlan is nearing the final stretch of his fifth run across America, part of a coast-to-coast journey he calls “Run for America.” Nearly three months into the effort, Coughlan pushed through Livingston County with a jogging stroller full of supplies and an eight-foot pole carrying an American flag.

What began as a safety measure, he said, has become a powerful symbol for people he meets along the way…
