Rochester bridge lights up for MLK Day in show of unity

Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) — As snowflakes fell to the ground Monday, candles lit the walkway on the pedestrian bridge over the Genesee River connecting South Plymouth Avenue and the University of Rochester, as part of a luminary night to honor Martin Luther King Jr.

“It’s just amazing just to be here with a bunch of other people inspired, despite the cold, to think about (King) and what he means even after all these years and how far we’ve come and how much further we have to go,” one attendee said.

“It’s like a light connecting everyone,” he added. “We’re all interconnected.”…
