ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A Rochester man is facing multiple felony weapons charges after state troopers discovered a loaded handgun during a traffic stop on the city’s northeast side earlier this month.
New York State Police say troopers stopped a vehicle on Portland Avenue near Dickinson Street on Friday after observing traffic violations. During the stop, troopers identified the front-seat passenger as 23-year-old Eric Gevon Moye Jr. of Rochester.
While speaking with Moye, troopers noticed what appeared to be a handgun partially concealed inside his jacket pocket, according to police. Moye was removed from the vehicle without incident, and a search uncovered a loaded Taurus G2C 9mm handgun with a round chambered and additional ammunition in the magazine.
Moye was taken into custody and charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, a felony, and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, also a felony…
