First Alert Weather: Biggest snowfall in at least eight years; Red Alert continues Monday

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The News10NBC Red Alert continues into Monday as an area-wide heavy snowfall blankets all of Western New York.  At times, the snow has been accumulating at the rate of one and half inches per hour with visibility falling to near a quarter mile.

As a result, travel has been treacherous, with driving not recommended. The News10NBC First Alert meteorologists anticipate that snowfall will not taper off until around midnight as it changes from a steady snow to a more intermittent lake effect snow.
