PENFIELD, N.Y. — As arctic temperatures continue to grip the area, some local businesses are struggling to attract customers. News10NBC’s Erin Mahon spoke with restaurant owners in Penfield about how the cold weather is affecting their operations.
Several restaurants reported an increase in online orders during the cold spells. However, the owner of Rosey’s Italian Cafe, Richard Vitale, said it is not enough to make up for the loss in dine-in customers.
“We keep an eye on the forecast and we adjust accordingly,” Vitale said. “If we have to adjust our staff, reduce our purchasing…things like that to try and make a balance. You try to stay positive. You’re cooped up in the house a lot and it’s so cold out, but we’ll stay positive.”…
