Teen faces felony Ghost Gun charges in Rochester: State Police

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A 17-year-old male was arrested in Rochester and faces felony weapon charges after the New York State Police seized a loaded “ghost gun” during a traffic stop.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2026, at around 5:04 p.m. Troopers observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation on Norton Street near North Clinton Avenue. Troopers stopped the vehicle and interviewed the occupants.

Police noted that the occupants provided inconsistent statements. As the 17-year-old male passenger exited the vehicle, troopers detected what they believed to be a firearm in his jacket pocket. A subsequent search confirmed the presence of a loaded “ghost gun.” The weapon and ammunition were secured without incident…
