We spent nine consecutive days below 20 degrees from January 24-February 1, cracking a top 5 list for longest streak of the sort. But even in our return to “warmth,” we remain below freezing.
Our last temperature above 32° was January 22, at 33°. We don’t look to get back to that point through at least the start of next week.
This opens up another “consecutive days” conversation, this time around days below freezing.
The chart above shows the top 20 longest streaks of days spent below freezing for the city of Rochester. If we stay below freezing through Tuesday, February 10, that would put our current streak at 19 days, booting that 18-day streak from 2005 off the chart…
