The Enhanced Energy Affordability Program (EEAP) was create to help moderate-income households cut down on the cost of their energy bills by offering monthly discounts.
“Cold weather is here to stay and EEAP is another option to help reduce the impact of a customer’s bill,” said Christine Alexander, vice president of customer service for NYSEG and RG&E. “Innovative ideas like this help customers in the communities we serve. At the same time, we continue to encourage everyone to research options that are best for them to control their bills.”
According to NYSEG, supply costs are pass-through charges, meaning the utility buys energy on the market and delivers it to customers at the same price. Those prices rise and fall based on market conditions and a customer’s supply plan.
