Robert Brooks’ father reacts to acquitted prison guard suing the state for malicious prosecution

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Nicholas Kieffer, a former prison guard acquitted in the death of Greece inmate Robert Brooks, has filed a lawsuit against the state. News10NBC’s Declan Stablow spoke with Robert Ricks, the father of Robert Brooks. Ricks expressed feeling disrespected by Kieffer’s lawsuit.

The suit accuses the state of malicious prosecution, defamation, and negligence in training.

“He might have been inconvenienced. His reputation, his character might have been questioned. But my son, myself, my grandson, my daughter, his mom, they were hurt,” Ricks said…
