University Tower tenants allege persistent pest problems despite complaints to management

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Residents of University Tower in Rochester have reported ongoing issues with pests such as mice, rats, bedbugs, and roaches in their apartments. Despite multiple complaints to management, they said the problems have persisted.

Maria Rios, a resident of University Tower for two years, said she has noticed a significant increase in pest sightings in recent months. “We’re visibly able to see them shooting across the room with the light on the TV on, that seems to be a problem,” Rios said. She mentioned catching three mice in glue traps in her apartment.

Rios expressed frustration with the management’s response to the pest issue. “When we explain it to them, it’s either take a photo. I mean, there’s no way most of us can chase around a rat or a mouse to take a photo of it,” she said. Rios added that pest control was seen at the complex a couple of months ago…
