New addition to Rochester’s dementia care and community support

Rochester, N.Y. — An event was held on Sunday afternoon, “Illuminating Hope: A Community Gathering for Dementia Care,” to launch the capital campaign for the future Charlie and Kathy Runyon Dementia Resource Center at St. John’s.

The event featured several speakers, guided tours of the space, and a display of hearts where guests honored their loved ones who have suffered or are currently affected by dementia.

The center will offer a dedicated physical space to complement St. John’s existing free online resource center, and will deliver essential support to caregivers and individuals living with dementia in the Rochester community through a wide range of on-site programs and activities, including drop-off respite care…
