Western New York Weather Alert: Up to 0.50 Inch of Ice From 5 AM to 1 AM Thursday

Buffalo, New York – Freezing rain will begin coating roads and power lines across western New York by 5 a.m. Wednesday, with up to a half inch of ice possible before conditions improve after 1 a.m. Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service in Buffalo, a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 5 a.m. to 1 a.m. EST Thursday for Niagara, Orleans, Monroe, Wayne, Northern Cayuga and Genesee counties. Ice accumulations between a quarter and one half inch are possible, while snow and sleet totals should remain at one inch or less…
