ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A concert to recognize Black History Month was held at Mt. Olivet Church on Saturday evening.
Together, AKOMA, an African American Women’s Choir, and Voices of Thunder, a male chorus, brought a sound to celebrate and reflect on the history of Black music and gospel. Proceeds from the event go towards scholarships the groups provide to young women and men pursuing higher education.
