Rochester man sentenced in connection to drug trafficking ring

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A Rochester man was sentenced for his involvement in a drug trafficking ring in the city.

In November 2022, police searched 42-year-old Wayne McDaniels’ apartment on Maria Street as part of an investigation into a group of drug dealers operating out of multiple drug houses. One of these houses, according to police, was on Jay Street, where McDaniels’ six-month-old nephew died from a fentanyl overdose in August of that year.

During the search of the apartment, investigators found over 400 individually packed bags of fentanyl, multiple quantities of bulk fentanyl and cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and two loaded guns…
