The Irondequoit Historical Society will welcome Irondequoit’s Town Historian, Tim Judd, as the speaker at their next presentation at the library on Thursday, March 5, at 7:00 PM.
The Historical Society is letting Tim play Historian’s Choice for his presentation topic and he has chosen to share a brief history of Irondequoit’s School District #3 (did you know there used to be even more school districts in our town?).
The earliest schoolhouse to serve School District #3 was built in 1840 out of logs. It stood on the southeast corner of Titus Avenue and Lower Hudson (now known as Cooper Road) on land donated by Stephen Titus.
