ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The DEC has determined the cause of death of multiple birds found at Seneca Lake.
News 8 received reports that multiple bird carcasses were found at Seneca Lake recently. The New York DEC explained that the melting ice and warmer temperatures caused the bodies to wash up on shore.
The carcasses were sent to Cornell University for testing, where it was confirmed they died of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI)…
