Rochester Model Railroad Club holds event on Sunday, made possible by about 50 friends

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Model Railroad Club hosted its annual open house earlier Sunday.

The event, held the first weekend of March each year, featured a 2,400-square-foot layout that began construction in 1989. Parents brought their children to experience the sights and sounds of the model railroad.

The president of the Rochester Model Railroad Club, Ed O’Connell, said the layout was made possible with about 50 friends, a bit of money, and talent. “A lot of people don’t — may not necessarily have the room or the — or their ability to do it on their own, but they still enjoy trains and in fact who doesn’t?” he said…
