Statue of Mary stolen from Rochester Church Grotto recovered, parish says

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A statue of the Virgin Mary that had been taken from a grotto outside a Rochester church has been recovered and returned to parish leaders, church officials said.

The statue was removed from the grotto at Holy Cross Church in Rochester, leaving parishioners concerned and prompting prayers from members of the local Catholic community. Church leaders announced this week that the statue has since been found and is now back in the possession of the parish.
