All of Western New York Now Under Major Winter Weather Advisory

There is a saying that people all over Western and Central New York use quite often this time of year: if you don’t like the weather, just wait a few minutes.

That statement couldn’t be more true if you look at the weather patterns we’ve seen in the Buffalo and Rochester areas over the last few weeks. We’ve gone from snowstorms to late winter warmups and near torrential thunderstorms to bright sunny days. And, according to a recent announcement from the National Weather Service, those in the Western and Central parts of the Empire State need to make sure they’re prepared for another blast of winter weather.

National Weather Service Issues Winter Advisory for All Of WNY

In just a span of 24 hours, places like Buffalo will have had to deal with an interesting combination of High Wind Warnings, Wind Advisories, Gale Warnings, and a Winter Weather Advisory that is going to take the region from temperatures in the 60s to those that are well below freezing in less than a day.

Temperatures will continue to cool rapidly behind a strong cold front that crossed the area today. Gusty winds will continue into Tuesday morning. Rain will transition to widespread snow this evening and then transition to lake effect snow east of both Lake Erie & Ontario Tues. pic.twitter.com/uDMryY426W…
