Car break-ins decline in Rochester yet remain a nuisance

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A series of car break-ins occurred over the weekend at Saint Bernard’s Park, a senior home on Lake Avenue. News10NBC’s Declan Stablow reviewed data from the Rochester Police Department’s open data portal to compare current car break-in numbers with last year’s.

According to the RPD data, there were 99 car break-ins through January and February this year, compared to 144 during the same period last year. However, there have already been 46 thefts from cars in March alone.
