Rochester Board of Education seeks public input on proposed changes to district’s code of conduct

The Rochester Board of Education held a public hearing Tuesday night to allow for discussion of proposed changes to the Rochester City School District’s code of conduct.

Individuals were invited to speak at the hearing and offer their feedback on the proposed changes.

“Students should be able to have a counselor who stays with them from ninth grade to 12th grade and doesn’t switch year to year,” said a student who spoke during the hearing. “Support teachers and counselors who support our lives and support connections with students. Don’t punish them for doing that; we really need them. And let’s get to know more than our teacher’s last names because we can’t open up to somebody if we don’t know their full name.”…
