Ruling limits Rochester Police Accountability Board’s power to recommend discipline on RPD officers

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — An appellate court ruled on Friday that the Rochester Police Accountability Board does not have the authority to recommend discipline against Rochester Police Department officers.

According to the decision, the local law giving the PAB that power is unlawful because it conflicts with state law and collective bargaining agreements.
