ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Hours after a jet and a fire truck collided on the runway of LaGuardia Airport in New York City, killing two people, Rochester air travelers are sharing their reaction.
David and Patricia Kolczynski were supposed to fly to LaGuardia from the Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport on Monday morning. That 6:12 a.m. flight has been canceled because LaGuardia is still closed after Sunday night’s crash. They were rebooked on a Delta flight to Atlanta, scheduled to depart around 6 a.m. David and Patricia said they still feel safe while flying.
“We planned to get up at a certain time. When we wake up, we see that we got a text that our flight has been canceled,” David Kolczynski said. “Now, we got to leave 25 minutes earlier than we planned. So you’re scrambling to get here, and with all the TSA stuff, hopefully, you know, maybe they’re on time, and our bags make it.”…
