NY weather update: Monroe County under a flood warning until Wednesday evening caused by intense rainfall

An updated flood warning was released by the National Weather Service on Wednesday at 5:38 a.m. in effect until 7 p.m. for Monroe County.

The weather service informs, “Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues along Irondequoit Creek for Monroe county.”

“Flooding of low-lying and flood-prone locations along Irondequoit Creek will continue today. Widespread flooding will continue in Ellison Park, and flooding may also impact Panorama Plaza and portions of Blossom Road,” adds the weather service. “Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.”
