Rochester, N.Y. — A woman was acquitted by a jury Wednesday of second-degree murder in connection to the stabbing death of her stepfather last summer in the city’s Maplewood neighborhood.
Keyanna Richards was accused of stabbing 49-year-old Gary Morgan several times at the intersection of Dewey and Driving Park avenues in Rochester Aug. 27, 2025. Rochester police said Morgan was confronting Richards over items she stole from his apartment. Morgan died shortly after arriving at St. Mary’s Medical Campus.
