ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Heavy rain caused major issues across parts of the region, including flooding in some neighborhoods.
Creek overflows in Livonia neighborhood
In Livonia, rising water from a nearby creek spilled into yards and basements, leaving neighbors to deal with damage and cleanup.
There was some ponding left behind Wednesday from the flood. The water level was significantly higher the day before, reaching up to calf-height from the creek, which sits at least three feet below the surrounding area.
The flooding hit Old Orchard Park in Livonia hard. Jack Brown, who has lived in the area for 50 years, said the rain came down so fast that the creek couldn’t keep up, overflowed and flooded the surrounding area and basements…
