Irondequoit, N.Y. (WROC) — Even though police from all over responded to Lake Avenue on March 20 after an officer was shot, it took hours to locate the suspect who police say had found an excellent hiding place nearby, behind a building and under brush.
Though he might have been able to escape the eye of officers, he could not escape the eye of an RPD drone that used thermal technology to pick up on his heat signature.
After the drone shone its light on the shooter, he used a gun to take his own life…
