WEBSTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A Webster woman is speaking out after her 96-year-old mother-in-law lost $19,000 in a so-called “grandparent scam,” a scheme authorities say is becoming increasingly sophisticated.
“Shame on you,” Lauren Coe said of the scammers. “You must have a grandparent, and to think that you’re doing this to someone else’s grandparent… it’s despicable.”
