Cold snap brings snow, flooding concerns across Finger Lakes this week

A sharp return to winter-like conditions will grip the Finger Lakes to start the week, bringing a mix of rain and snow, below-normal temperatures, and ongoing flooding concerns across parts of the region.

Forecasters say the pattern will impact Cayuga, Schuyler, Seneca, Ontario, Wayne, and Yates counties through at least midweek before conditions begin to stabilize.

According to the National Weather Service, a deep cold air mass moving into the eastern Great Lakes will drive periods of rain and wet snow showers Monday, with colder air continuing to build through the day.
