Man visiting brother at RGH pulled gun on staff, police say

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A man trying to visit his hospitalized brother at Rochester General allegedly pulled a loaded handgun and pointed it at multiple workers last week before hospital security detained him, according to court records.

Police said 35-year-old Gregory Strickland was arrested Friday after a confrontation inside the hospital. Officers responded just before noon for a report of a man with a gun, but hospital security had already taken him into custody before Rochester police arrived. No shots were fired and no injuries were reported.

According to court filings, Strickland became upset while trying to see his brother, who was a patient at the hospital. Several workers told investigators he grew increasingly agitated during the encounter and allegedly pulled out a loaded handgun during the dispute…
