Rochester, N.Y. — Police said an officer was injured while trying to detain an intoxicated man late Wednesday on the city’s west side.
Officers encountered the 24-year-old man walking in the middle of Dewey Avenue near Costar Street just before 11:20 p.m., according to Lt. Jeffrey Pursel from the Rochester Police Department.
