ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics says that nationwide, there are about 60,000 job openings for licensed practical nurses. That’s why a Rochester area senior living community is tackling the critical nursing shortage by investing in the people who already work there, caring for residents every day.
At Friendly Senior Living, caring for others is what they do. The senior living community is helping employees take that care to the next level with a tuition-paid program called STEP; a staff teaching and education program. Caregivers are getting paid while they learn.
