A class focusing on the use of herbs and spices in cooking is set for June 10 in Freeport.
Culinary Herbs 101, offered by the University of Illinois Extension in partnership with the Senior Resource Center, will run from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Senior Resource Center, 206 E. Stephenson St.
The class will cover practical tips for selecting, storing and preserving herbs, according to a community announcement. Participants will learn how to use herbs and spices effectively in cooking, including how much to add to enhance a dish without overpowering it. The class will also explore how these ingredients can support healthier cooking habits.
