Rockford-area libraries to benefit from $27M in Illinois library grants

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Several libraries serving the Rockford region are expected to benefit from a new round of state funding as Illinois officials announce more than $27 million in grants aimed at strengthening library services statewide.

Illinois Secretary of State and State Librarian Alexi Giannoulias said the investment will support public and school libraries with funding for books, technology, programming, infrastructure improvements and security upgrades.
