ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) — Dozens gathered for a candlelight vigil in downtown Rockford on Thursday in honor of Tristyn August, a 20-year-old shot and killed Sunday at the Circle K on East State and Jefferson.
Bright pink balloons were released into the sky and candles were lit in honor of August. Dozens of family and friends left handwritten messages on a memorial board and hugged each other tightly.
