Harlem Township official faces multiple charges after allegedly fleeing crash

ROCKFORD, Ill (WTVO) — A Harlem Township Official faces multiple charges after allegedly fleeing the scene of a car accident back on Friday, June 12, according to Machesney Park Police Department

Police said 49-year-old Jon Vaiden, an assessor for Harlem Township, was identified as the driver involved in a hit-and-run at 10101 North 2nd Street in Machesney Park.

Witnesses told officers they saw Vaiden in a blue Chevrolet that stopped at a stop sign before continuing northbound, then suddenly turning westbound and striking the front of another vehicle…
