BELOIT, Wis. (WFRV) – As the 4th of July holiday weekend approaches, police in Wisconsin are asking the public to be mindful of their local fireworks ordinances.
According to the Beloit Police Department, any firework that leaves the ground or explodes is considered illegal.

Officers are expected to have a heavy presence from now through the holiday weekend, ready to enforce the proper firework regulations. They warn that any use of illegal fireworks will result in citations and confiscation.
