ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – Triple-digit heat index values create dangerous conditions across the stateline, and doctors say the combination of high temperatures and humidity can quickly lead to serious illness.
Mercyhealth Associate EMS Medical Director Jacob Ginglen said humidity plays a major role because it makes it harder for the body to cool itself.
