Owners of former Merchyhealth hospital seek $2.4 million to redevelop Rockford campus

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — The owners of the former Mercy Health/Javon Bea Hospital campus on Rockton Avenue are seeking to raise $2.4 million to renovate and redevelop the property into what they describe as a mixed-use community center offering housing, medical services and business opportunities.

According to the flyer, which has since been taken down, the Browns’ plans for the property include apartments and housing, medical clinics, emergency care services, a cancer center, military housing and care programs, retail development and other business opportunities.

The ministry has set a fundraising goal of $2.4 million for renovation and development costs. Donations are being sought through Cash App, mail and in-person contributions through the church.
