LOVES PARK — Show skiers from around the Midwest and other parts of the country will compete on the Rock River this weekend in the Division 2 National Show Ski Championships.
The annual competition takes place over two days on Saturday and Sunday at Shorewood Park, 235 Evelyn Ave., where the Loves Park Ski Broncs host their twice-weekly shows. Admission is free.
There will be roughly 70 pulls from the dock in the individual competition on Saturday, showcasing various disciplines such as 360 swivel and freestyle jumping. Then four teams, including the Ski Broncs, compete on Sunday. The other teams hail from Missouri, Michigan and Wisconsin. Individual competitors come largely from the Midwest, but there are some coming from as far as Florida, according to Steve Kling, president of the nonprofit Ski Broncs board of directors…
