ROCKFORD — A newly formed nonprofit born out of the Northwestern Illinois Area Agency on Aging‘s quest to create a place for healthy aging is preparing to open a new senior center.

The nonprofit Living Well Center of Northern Illinois, which formed this spring, plans to open its senior center in the former Fifth Third Bank space on the ground floor of 1111 S. Alpine Road. The NIAAA’s offices are on the sixth floor of the building, and it supported the new nonprofit through its formation and planning for the senior center…
