Family of Milton man slain in Janesville shooting decries gun violence

Jason Kaplan, a Milton man killed in a shooting in Janesville’s Fourth Ward on Aug. 9, was a construction worker and a boxer. His family says Kaplan often put on boxing gloves and sparred to work through his tension and anger in his own life. That’s why the family has held a vigil at the site of Kaplan’s death for days. They’re airing Kaplan and his family’s mantra against gun violence: “Guns Down, Knuckles Up.”

Janesville’s Pistons & Props airshow grew bigger this year, with more big, fast, aerobatic planes, more activities, and a big ambition: to grow to become the region’s signature, end-of-summer airshow.
