If Guilford is one of the roads you use on the daily commute, you should prepare for possible delays this week with construction planned in the area.
Guilford Road Closure Begins Thursday
Crews will conduct water main work on Thursday (9/3) that’s connected to the city’s Lead Service Line Replacement Program, which will close a portion of Guilford Road between N. Chicago Avenue and Paris Avenue.
Delays are likely with eastbound traffic being diverted at the 5 Points intersection onto Rural Street, while motorists traveling westbound will be detoured south on Parkview Avenue to Rural Street.
Detour signs will be posted at both intersections to guide drivers around the construction zone.
Businesses and Homes Will Remain Open
While through traffic will be restricted, residential and business access within the construction area will be maintained. City officials say all homes and businesses will remain open throughout the project…
