ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — 38-year-old Derick Patterson faces new charges stemming from two incidents in June and July.
During the night of July 9, 2026, and into July 10, Rockford Police responded to a trespassing call at the Rockford Ridge Apartments complex on Cameron Ave, where police say Patterson, who had been banned from the complex, was at an apartment and was possibly armed. The call did not result in an arrest.
Later in the morning, police returned to the Rockford Ridge Apartments after the complex’s security detained another person, who noted that he had a handgun allegedly given to him by someone named Derick, who asked him to deliver the gun to another person in a different apartment, court documents say…
