Beloit ends fire, EMS services agreement with nearby communities

BELOIT, Wis. — Beloit is ending fire and EMS services agreement to nearby communities due to what city leaders call “significant disparities,” to what the communities have historically paid and the actual cost of maintaining those services.

Those services include maintaining the personnel, equipment, training, facilities and emergency response capacity.

City leaders said nearby communities that were receiving fire and EMS services at rates significantly below the cost of providing those services, and residents and taxpayers of the city and town absorbed a large portion of the remaining cost…
