ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford firefighters responded to a fire Thursday afternoon at the Collins Aerospace facility at 4747 Harrison Ave.
According to the Rockford Fire Department, crews were dispatched to the facility at 2:13 p.m. for a reported fire. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and contained it within the industrial building. Employees were evacuated, and no injuries were reported.
A total of 29 firefighters and paramedics responded, including two engines, two ambulances, a hazardous materials vehicle and a fire investigator. Crews also requested a mobile ventilation unit to clear smoke from the building.
Authorities say they believe the fire was accidental. The cause remains under investigation…
