JANESVILLE — A 58-year-old Janesville man presented an elephant figurine claiming it was a bomb as allegedly demanded money at Advia Credit Union in Beloit, according to a criminal complaint.
Deon Apondence Crawford appeared Monday in Rock County Circuit Court in front of Commissioner Jack Hoag, who set a $10,000 cash bond for his release and scheduled Crawford’s next appearance for Oct. 6.
Crawford faces charges of felony robbery of a financial institution and misdemeanor bail jumping with both potential sentences being enhanced because he’s a repeat offender. If convicted of the robbery charge, he could face a sentence of up to 42 years in prison…
