ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A jury trial has been scheduled for February 2027 for Christian Ivan Soto, the Rockford man accused of killing four people and injuring seven others during a series of attacks in March 2024.
Soto’s trial is now scheduled to begin February 1, 2027, nearly three years after the attacks. The case had previously been set for trial beginning July 20, 2026, before being delayed.
Soto faces 25 felony counts, including eight counts of first-degree murder, seven counts of attempted first-degree murder, seven counts of aggravated battery and three counts of home invasion. The charges stem from attacks that occurred at several locations on Rockford’s east side on March 27, 2024…
