ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A Rockford man will spend more than 2 years in federal prison after a conviction for selling a handgun and “machine gun” conversion devices to a convicted felon.
The U.S. Justice Department reported that in the spring and summer of 2024, Brian Rodriguez, 24, sold the weapon and a “switch” device, used to convert an automatic handgun to semi-automatic, along with an amount of ammunition.
Earlier this year, Rodriguez pleaded guilty to one count of knowingly possessing and transferring a machine gun. He was sentenced in the Northern District of Illinois on Friday…
