ROCKFORD — A new locally owned restaurant is preparing to take over a former Hooters that has been vacant for more than a year.
Owners Ismael Lopez and Mauricio Gonzalez Chavez have started renovations to the property they’re leasing at 6904 Argus Drive, which is off Perryville Road on the city’s east side.
